Project Capsule: GE Aviation Trade Show Exhibit Building

GE Aviation needed a brand-new showroom for the 100th anniversary of the EAA AirVenture Show, which is a gathering of over 600,000 air enthusiasts in Oshkosh, WI. The showroom displayed products from GE Aviation. The Pac-Van team got to work disassembling an existing, aging building on site, and they salvaged anything that could be saved for the new structure. Pac-Van worked closely with the customer’s architect and engineer to design a reusable space that encompassed the customer’s vision. Using five new 40’ High Cube containers, Pac-Van designed,  fabricated and installed a 1,600 sq. ft. showroom that included a conference room, utility closet, small office, large showroom and a rooftop balcony for hosting gatherings to watch air shows. The exterior was constructed with steel siding. Large glass windows and store front doors were added to the front of the building. Insulation foam was sprayed within the steel framed walls and ceiling before then being covered with paneling on the interior. The flooring was vinyl covered woodgrain planks. The lighting, HVAC system, frame for the store-front windows and doors, stairs and some of the metal for the roof-top deck that was salvaged from the previous building was used in the new building.
