Pac-Van, Inc., a subsidiary of General Finance Corporation, a NASDAQ traded company (GFN), offers an outstanding opportunity for a leading Human Resource Director in our corporate office. Pac-Van competes in the storage container, mobile office, modular building and liquid storage tank industries with over 50 locations across the U.S. and in Canada.

The job responsibilities consist of:

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including federal and multi-state employment law, employee benefits, hiring and termination processes, performance management, training and development, and employee relations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the practical application of federal and state labor and employment laws
  • Expertise in employee relations, including on-boarding and termination processes
  • Adept at balancing employee advocacy with company needs and objectives and serving as a consultant to management at all company locations on HR related processes and issues
  • Ability to assess HR policies, processes and procedures and identify, develop and implement new programs to fill gaps and improve the company’s approach to HR management
  • Knowledge of and experience with benefit plan administration
  • Experience with payroll administration, including a working knowledge of HR Management software, preferably ADP
  • Experience with various recruitment and talent acquisition tactics and programs
  • Experience designing and implementing employee training and development programs
  • Experience maintaining and managing personnel files and maintaining job descriptions
  • Experience administering unemployment compensation programs
  • Experience administering employee award and recognition programs
  • Well organized and detail oriented with an ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills
  • Good analytical capabilities and presentation skills
  • Experience managing in a multi-state and multi-location environment

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelors Degree required (preferably in HR or Business Administration)
  • 6 to 10 years or more of experience as an HR professional
  • PHR or SPHR certification (or similar) preferred
