They are strong, secure and easily relocatable. They offer a construction team a comfortable, climate-controlled workspace that also provides security for valuable tools, supplies and equipment.
Pac-Van’s insulated ground level mobile offices are made from industrial strength steel ISO shipping containers that have been modified to include: heating/cooling, lights, electrical wiring and wall mounted J-box for phone/data connection. They include security features such as solid steel doors and sturdy welded steel security bars on windows. Pac-Van can incorporate further modifications by adding roll-up doors, adding a turbine or power vent, installing overhead lighting, electrical outlets or even a finished restroom.
Recently, our Louisville branch rented a modified ground level office complex to a construction company for nineteen months, providing necessary office space during construction of a new branch of the YMCA of Greater Louisville.
The YMCA will be built on a 12-acre lot. The 62,000 square feet building will include a pool, a fitness center, an indoor track, a children’s activity area, a gymnasium and a multifunctional room. The site will also hold 270 parking spaces and multi-sports field.
Because this is such a large project, the construction team was in need of a similarly large space to provide both workspace and the space necessary to store all of their materials. Our Louisville branch provided a 32’x40’ ground level office complex. It is comprised of four 8’x40’ shipping containers and includes a large open space which can serve as either a large conference room or storage space area. The complex also has four 8’x10’ private offices with built-in desks and filing cabinets.
Ground level offices have a wide range of benefits. They have an easy setup, since all they need is a level surface; they can also be placed almost anywhere, including on top of one and other! The easy setup and stackable nature of GLOs saves construction companies both time and space, and their portable, easily movable by forklift or crane throughout the jobsite.
