In addition to our 13 psi Blast Resistant Modules (BRMs), the Pac-Van team offers 8 psi blast resistant containers to those industries needing greater protection.

Blast resistant modules from Pac-Van provide protection to both your team and equipment from the following types of hazards:

Manmade hazards
•  Vapor cloud explosions     •  High explosive blasts     •  Pressure vessel ruptures     •  Projectile impact     •  Forced entry

Natural hazards
•  High wind     •  Earthquakes     •  Fire     •  Snow

Available as stand-alone units or connected modules for larger complexes, these buildings are fully transportable and modular.

While our standard 8 psi design may be an ideal solution for your needs, we are also able to design and build to suit to your specific company, industry, and site needs, with modifications such as:
•  Ballistics resistance     •  Toxic release protection     •  Blast windows     •  Fire protection     •  Forced entry protection     •  ASCE Low or Medium response level

For those customers seeking additional protection from blast loads greater than 8 psi, we also sell a validated unit that can withstand FREE-FIELD PRESSURE UP TO 13 PSI (reflected pressure of ~34 psi) and a loading duration of 200 ms for vapor cloud explosions.

Video of Field Test

Pac-Van’s 8 psi blast resistant module was successfully field-tested and withstood a high explosive blast test using 1,250 lbs of ammonium nitrate, fuel oil (ANFO) at a distance of 90 feet. Test results showed that the interior space was safe for occupancy, and the structural response satisfied the Low Response Level criteria as defined by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). We are happy to share our test results upon request.
