Project Capsule: Universal Healthcare
This 112×60’ mixed-use building serves as a center for the counseling & rehabilitation of troubled youths housed at an adjacent secure dormitory.
The design includes (3) 24×30’ classrooms and a counseling center separate by a 1-hour fire rated hallway. The counseling center has (19) offices, a break room, and a large work area in the middle. There are (4) restrooms in the building. The exterior of the building was customized to match the architecture of the existing dormitory.
One of the key challenges overcome with the building site was a slope requiring 6’ high piers on one end. This project was completed in only 5 weeks.
