Spring Has Sprung! Go Green with a Renovated Pac-Van Modular Building

Seems like only a month ago we were showing you pictures of snowmen in Dallas, and now we’re sharing this scene from a tropical, sandy beach.

Last week the Modular Building Institute hosted its annual conference in Orlando. During the closing awards banquet, Pac-Van was honored with a Best of Show award for the Pirate Cove Bar and Restaurant in southern California (see photo). This project was coordinated by Tom Svare and all of our great staff at the Pac-Van Bakersfield office.

One of the most impressive things about this commercial modular building is the fact that it was originally built as part of a modular office 35 years ago. The structure was renovated extensively to meet the customer’s needs and was ready for occupation in less than three weeks. A traditional site-built restaurant would have required over four months of construction time. To see more photos of this project, visit: Recycled & Renovated Modular Building - Pirate’s Cove.pdf

Because of modular construction techniques, these buildings are not only as durable as site-built facilities; they are also more easily renovated to meet different needs. The ability to recycle a building not only saves time and money, but it also dramatically reduces the environmental impact of construction with  fewer trees needed for materials, lower carbon emissions, less disruption to the building site, and limited unrecyclable waste to go into a landfill.

Now that spring is here and things are beginning to turn green across most of the country, consider a renovated modular building for your new space needs. It’s efficient, economically friendly, and environmentally friendly. Green, green, and more green!
