For those of you in California, the term DSA classroom brings to mind a small, boring modular classroom that is designed to be economical rather than attractive. A recent project from Pac-Van and R+U Architectural, Building & Development Firm in Granada Hills, California was anything but. We’ve previously posted photos of the project here on our site and on “Is That Modular?” our Facebook page dedicated to unique modular buildings, but on January 21st, the project received some pretty impressive recognition. The San Fernando Valley Chapter of the American Institute of Architects recognized the “Trailer de Cuba” project as the winner of their 2011 Residential Honor Award. The architect behind the project will be giving a presentation at the upcoming SFV AIA chapter meeting to discuss this amazing building.
