Pac-Van Plays a Unique Role in Utah’s I-15 Renovation Project

Kiewit stacked container projectThe largest highway construction project in Utah’s history has just reached its one-year milestone. Pac-Van has played a unique role in this project by providing storage containers. That doesn’t sound unique until you consider how they were used. Instead of storing materials for the construction of the bridge spans needed for the highway renovations, the containers are actually used as the support system upon which the bridges are being built. This innovative construction practice allows the workers to build the bridge with minimal disruption to the existing flow of traffic and then move the completed bridges into place with cranes. This not only saves on construction time but it saves a lot of headaches for the commuters in the area.
