Pac-Van recognizes our part in all of the local communities where we do business. During the holiday season, we feel that it is more important than ever to give to or do things for those less fortunate. Most of our branches have employees that volunteer for various organizations throughout the year and we would like to acknowledge and thank them for their efforts. Our corporate office is participating in a few local events this year. They include:
- In October, our employees gave to the ShoeBox Brigade through the American Legion Post 470 in Fischers, IN. This project is to provide gift boxes for our soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan for Christmas.
- In December, we are collecting canned food and cash donations for Gleaners Food Bank. Gleaners provides food for those less fortunate all year-round.
- In December, we will also be collecting hats, gloves and scarves to be donated to Wheeler Mission for the homeless.
- The week of 12/21/09, we will have a dog/cat food drive by collecting sealed bags and cans of food that will be donated to local humane shelters and pet rescue organizations.
Some of the activities that we recommend to our employees on an individual basis include:
- Donate blood
- Volunteer own personal time to help with a charitable cause:
• Spend some time talking with people at a nursing home
• Volunteer at a food bank
• Spend time helping at a homeless shelter
- Provide food, clothing, toys, or other Christmas presents for a family less fortunate
- Send a care package to a soldier who can’t be with family for the holidays
- Take a neighbor who is unable to get out on their own to lunch, shopping, or to run errands
The employees at Pac-Van would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
